Bringing Aerospace Innovation Closer: Our Two-Week Roadshow Journey
Published date: 27 October 2025
This autumn, the ConRo Electronics team took to the road for the Defence & Aerospace Technology Roadshow 2025, a two-week tour from 22 September to 3 October, visiting leading aerospace and defence sites across the UK. Our goal: to bring innovation to the doorstep of engineers, technicians and decision-makers, especially those who rarely have time to attend traditional trade shows. In other words, taking the show to the customer.
On the Road With ConRo
We kicked off the roadshow at Rolls-Royce, with a warm welcome and immediate opportunity to engage with their engineering and procurement teams. From there, we journeyed through the Midlands, South East and South West, visiting leading OEMs and Tier-1 manufacturers to explore practical ways ConRo can support aerospace and defence programmes.
At each site, we were accompanied by representatives from our trusted partners (including 3M, Henkel Loctite, HumiSeal and Indium Corporation) so customers could see integrated solutions, not just individual products. Our portfolio, including specialty chemicals, sealants, coatings, adhesives and solders, was on full display, with a focus on how to:
- ·optimise performance and reduce failure risk
- streamline supply chains for just-in-time delivery
- support full batch traceability, compliance and fast response
This “show to the customer” format really resonated: customers could see real materials in action, ask deep technical questions, and understand how ConRo can slot into their existing processes, rather than just waiting for them to come to us.
Meeting the Aerospace and Defence Community
Traditional trade shows often require significant travel and time away from production floors, making it difficult for engineers to attend. The Defence & Aerospace Technology Roadshow offers a refreshing alternative: a travelling showcase that brings suppliers and customers face-to-face on site.
We met representatives from R&D, production, quality and procurement teams. We had labside visits, to see how our adhesives or conformal coatings might integrate into their processes. The format sparked lively technical conversations, and many engineers commented that the experience gave them a clearer view of how new products could enhance their own designs and manufacturing processes.
Highlights from the Road
- Face-to-face collaboration: We met design, project and development engineers directly where they work, allowing for in-depth technical exchanges.
- Showcasing our portfolio: Hands-on product demos gave customers confidence to adopt new materials in critical programmes.
- Stronger connections: The relaxed, on-site environment encouraged open conversation and genuine curiosity about the technologies on display.
For us, the tour was a great reminder of how important it is to get out there and meet aerospace and defence teams in person. Seeing our products in action, and hearing how they could make a real difference to performance, was both exciting and genuinely rewarding. It made the miles on the road more than worth it!
