Shelf Life, Date of Expiry (DOE) & Batch Selection Policy

Overview

At ConRo, we prioritise supplying products with the freshest possible shelf life. We balance the need to maintain stock for rapid despatch and next-day delivery with the risk of reduced shelf life from prolonged storage.

ConRo aims to supply products with the longest possible remaining shelf life, while operating a strict FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation policy across all stocked materials.

As an AS9120 certified distributor, controlled stock rotation and batch traceability form part of our quality management procedures. This ensures correct stock rotation, maintains product integrity, and supports the traceability and quality controls expected within aerospace, aviation, defence, OEM and MRO supply chains.

Minimum Shelf Life on Despatch

All stocked materials are supplied using FIFO stock rotation.

Whilst we cannot guarantee a specific remaining shelf life for every product, ConRo will not despatch materials with less than 30 days shelf life remaining, unless otherwise agreed with the customer prior to shipment.

FIFO Stock Rotation

ConRo operates a FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation policy. This means stock is supplied in the order it was received, with the earliest expiry batch shipped first.

This ensures correct stock rotation and prevents materials approaching expiry from remaining unused in inventory.

Batch & Expiry Information Displayed on Our Website

For transparency, ConRo displays all currently stocked batches, quantities and Dates of Expiry (DOE) on our website.

Example:

BatchExpiry Date (DOE)Current Stock (FIFO)
XXXXXX108 May 2030119
XXXXXX206 August 2030906
XXXXXX311 January 2031715

This information is provided to give customers full visibility of available inventory.

The batches displayed are shown for inventory transparency only. Orders are supplied strictly in accordance with FIFO stock rotation, and specific batches cannot be selected when ordering.

Orders may contain multiple batches where required to fulfil the ordered quantity.

Viewing In-Stock Batches & Expiry Dates (DOE)

Customers can view all currently stocked batches, quantities and Dates of Expiry (DOE) directly on the product page within the ConRo website.

To view this information:

  1. Navigate to the relevant product page
  2. Click the “Expiry Dates” button
  3. A table will display all currently available batches, expiry dates and quantities

This information is provided to give customers full visibility of available inventory prior to ordering.

Batch Requests in Order Comments

Requests included within order comments asking for:

  • a specific batch
  • the latest batch
  • a later expiry date
  • supply outside of FIFO

will not be actioned unless agreed with our office prior to placing the order.

Orders will otherwise be processed and shipped in accordance with FIFO stock rotation.

If an order is subsequently cancelled, or a return requested, due to DOE or shelf life requirements not being met, cancellation or restocking charges may apply.

Please see returns policy: https://www.conro.com/online-returns-policy/

Option to Purchase Outside FIFO

ConRo may offer the option to purchase material outside of FIFO stock rotation, subject to approval by ConRo.

Where a customer requests supply outside of FIFO (either from existing stock or newly received inventory), a surcharge will apply based on the value of the individual item:

  • £0.00 – £49.99 → 50% surcharge
  • £50.00 – £249.99 → 30% surcharge
  • £250.00+ → 25% surcharge

These surcharges reflect the commercial risk associated with ageing inventory, additional administrative handling, and potential inventory disposition costs where stock remains unsold.

Requests for non-FIFO supply must be arranged with our office prior to placing an order.

Website Stock & Expiry Disclaimer

Batch numbers, quantities and Dates of Expiry (DOE) displayed on our website are provided for information purposes only and reflect stock information available at the time of viewing.

Whilst ConRo makes every effort to ensure this information is accurate, stock positions, batch availability and expiry dates may change without notice due to ongoing stock movements, sales and goods receipt.

Orders will be fulfilled in accordance with ConRo’s FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation policy, unless otherwise agreed with our team prior to order placement.

Industry Practice

Supplying materials in accordance with FIFO stock rotation is standard practice within the aerospace, defence and high-reliability manufacturing industries.
