Loctite 403 is a high viscosity, low-odour, low-bloom instant adhesive, specially designed for applications where odour or blooming could be an issue.

Product Information

Loctite 403 is a high viscosity, low-odour, low-bloom instant adhesive, specially designed for applications where vapour control is challenging, and odour or blooming could be an issue. The low-bloom properties of Loctite 403 ensure a clean finish, making it ideal for visible joints and applications where aesthetics are important. Additionally, the low-odour formulation enhances user comfort and safety, making it suitable for use in confined spaces or poorly ventilated areas.

Loctite 403 excels in bonding metals, elastomers, and a variety of plastics, including difficult-to-bond materials such as PP, PE, and PTFE, when used in conjunction with a primer. It is also well-suited for bonding porous or absorbent materials, such as wood, paper, leather, and fabric. Loctite 403 provides a fixture time ranging from 5 to 45 seconds on most surfaces.

  • High viscosity
  • Low-odour and low-bloom
  • Suitable for metal, plastics and rubber
  • Ideal for porous and absorbent surfaces
  • Fixture time ranging from 5 to 45 seconds

How to use Loctite 403:

  1. Clean surfaces before applying the product.
  2. If using on polyolefins and other low-energy surfaces, apply a primer such as Loctite SF 770 or Loctite SF 7239. If polyolefin and easier to bond materials are involved, apply the primer to the polyolefin only. Allow it to dry.
  3. Apply Loctite 403 to bond surfaces.
  4. Assemble components carefully. The short fixture time leaves little opportunity for adjustment.
  5. Hold together or clamp bonds until the adhesive has fixtured.
  6. Allow product to develop full strength before subjecting to any service loads. This will usually take about 24 hours.

Storage

Store Loctite 403 in the unopened container in a dry location. Optimal Storage: 2° C to 8° C. Storage below 2° C or greater than 8° C can adversely affect product properties.
