Uv Adhesives
UV adhesives use UV light sources to initiate the curing process. They are also known as light curing adhesives. Usually colourless, they create clean and transparent bonds.
UV adhesives are used in processes that require a high level of accuracy. These include applications in the medical, optical, and electronics industries. They are also employed in the production of glassware. UV adhesives are suitable for coating, potting and sealing. They cure in a matter of seconds, allowing a high production output. They are also ideal for manual assembly: because they will not cure until exposed to light, users can adjust the parts before bonding. UV adhesives are resistant to adverse environmental conditions, such as humidity and sunlight.
ConRo Electronics offers a wide choice of UV curing adhesives from major manufacturers such as Loctite and Dymax.
Conro Electronics is an authorized distributor for Loctite.
Types of UV curing adhesives
Users can choose between a wide range of UV curing adhesives and sealants. Each type provides specific characteristics and features. Different UV adhesives are designed to work with various substrates and processes. This provides manufacturers with flexibility in any application.
The main types of UV adhesives are:
- UV curing acrylic adhesives. Single component and solvent-free. They cure in a few seconds. They provide reliable adhesion to a wide variety of substrates.
- UV curing silicone adhesives. They provide fast curing speed and outstanding temperature resistance. Available in a wide range of viscosities. UV silicones are highly durable and resistant to oxygen, aging, weather and chemicals.
- LED curing adhesives. Notable for providing an alternate curing method. LED adhesives cure very quickly when exposed to LED light. They tend to be safer and more environmentally friendly than UV products. LED adhesives retain most of the properties of UV cure formulations.
