UV Curable Conformal Coatings

Showing all 17 results

UV curable conformal coatings are coatings that cure through exposure to UV light. They have low viscosity and are applied by spraying. Exposure to UV light is achieved through a UV oven. The film cures within seconds of application. This allows for increased production speed. UV coatings are 100% solids with no carrier solvents. Their composition results in a minimal impact on the environment.

They offer strong protection to PCBs. They provide resistance to chemical solvents, moisture and contaminants. The cured film guarantees a wide operating temperature range. Adhesion to the PCB is outstanding.

ConRo Electronics offers a wide choice of UV curable conformal coatings from major manufacturers such as Humiseal and Dymax.

Conro Electronics is an authorized distributor for Humiseal.

  • One part, no mixing required
  • Cure in seconds under UV light
  • Excellent adhesion to a wide range of surfaces
  • Excellent electrical properties
  • Resistant to moisture, solvents and contaminants
  • Wide operating temperature range
  • Reduced impact on the environment

They offer several benefits over traditional coatings. However, some drawbacks should be kept in mind.

UV curing occurs in the production line, through UV ovens. This means some areas might not be reached by UV light. A secondary curing mechanism is needed for hidden areas. This mechanism is usually moisture-curing.

Another drawback is the downside of the protection afforded by UV coatings. These coatings can be difficult to remove. This makes them hard to repair and rework. Removal requires UV curing equipment and UV radiation protection for workers.
