Acrylic Conformal Coatings
Acrylic conformal coatings are the most popular of coating materials. They create a thin film which conforms to the shape of a PCB. The film protects components from moisture and dust. It also provides electrical insulation.
Acrylic coatings are available in both liquid and spray formats. They are 1-part products, easy to apply. They cure by drying. The curing process requires no heat: this eliminates the risk of damaging components. Acrylic coatings can be removed with common solvents, like acetone.
They used for a wide range of applications. Common uses include PCB protection for TVs, phones and laptops, and protective coatings for outdoor signs.
