Dry Film Lubricants

Dry film lubricants are ideal for use in applications where traditional liquid and oil-based lubricating products may not be suitable. This includes extreme environments, such as high or low temperature or pressure settings, or applications where traditional lubricants are unsuitable due to their specific properties. Dry film lubricants are used to reduce friction and wear between mating parts in such environments. Additionally, they provide efficient protection against rust and other corrosive elements, which is especially helpful when exposed to high-moisture settings.

When it comes to industrial production, choosing the right lubricants can make all the difference in terms of efficiency and performance outcomes. That’s why at ConRo Electronics we offer several varieties of high-quality dry film lubricants, including those specifically designed for food-grade standards. Our products are well-suited for a variety of applications and come from major manufacturers such as Ambersil.

Conro Electronics is an authorized distributor for Ambersil.

Types of dry film lubricants

Here are some of the most common substances used as dry film lubricants:

  • MoS2 (molybdenum disulfide): A common dry film lubricant. It provides excellent lubrication under high loads and temperatures.
  • Graphite: A naturally occurring lubricant. It is often used in high-temperature applications.
  • PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene): It provides excellent chemical resistance and low friction properties.
  • Tungsten disulfide (WS2): It is extremely durable and has a low friction coefficient.

Applications of dry film lubricants

Dry film lubricants are used in a variety of applications, including:

  • Aerospace hydraulic fittings
  • Automotive fasteners and sliding parts
  • Rubber, plastic and other non-metallic substrates
  • Marine equipment that’s exposed to saltwater
  • Saw blades Interlocking gears
  • Non-intrusive medical devices
  • Industrial manufacturing
