Loctite SF 7061 is a solvent-based product used to clean and degrease surfaces to be bonded with Loctite adhesives. It’s non-corrosive and contains no CFC. Loctite 7061 is used as a final cleaning treatment before assembly, in order to remove most greases, oils, lubrication fluids, metal cuttings, and similar contaminants from surfaces that will be bonded.
Loctite SF 7061 is an acetone / alcohol based product. It has no effect on the speed of cure or final strength of adhesives, other than providing a clean surface. Loctite SF 7061 can affect certain plastics or coatings. It is recommended to check all surfaces for compatibility before use.

How to use Loctite SF 7061:
- Spray Loctite SF 7061 on the surfaces to be bonded.
- Wipe surfaces when still wet with a clean cloth, to remove all heavy contamination.
- Re-spray surfaces, to allow run-off of product.
- Allow Loctite SF 7061 to fully evaporate from parts before bonding. This will prevent solvent entrapment within the bond joint.
- Apply adhesive immediately after drying and assemble.
Storage
Store Loctite SF 7061 in the unopened container in a dry location. Optimal Storage: 8° C to 21° C. Storage below 8° C or greater than 28° C can adversely affect product properties.
