Loctite 510 is a medium strength, high temperature resistant, anaerobic sealant designed for use on rigid metal flanges.

Product Information

Loctite 510 is a single component, medium strength, anaerobic sealant. It is designed for use on rigid metal flanges. The product is high temperature and chemical resistant. It provides an instant, low-pressure seal. Typical applications include sealing rigid flange faces on transmissions and engine casings. Loctite 510 improves the torque capacity of assembled flanges. Loctite 510 cures in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces. It adapts to surface irregularities and scratches up to 0.25 mm. The product is suitable for hand dispensing or screen printing.
  • Medium strength
  • High viscosity
  • Suitable for rigid metal flanges
  • Resistant to high temperatures and chemicals
  • Instant low pressure resistance
  • Designed for gaps up to 0.25 mm
  • P1 NSF Reg. No.: 123007

How to use Loctite 510:

  1. For best results, clean all surfaces with a Loctite solvent. Allow it to dry.
  2. If curing speed is too slow, or in the presence of large gaps, use an activator spray such as Loctite SF 7471 or SF 7649. Allow it to dry.
  3. Apply Loctite 510 manually as a continuous bead or by screen printing to one surface of the flanges.
  4. Low pressures may be used when testing to confirm a complete seal. Perform the test immediately after assembly and before curing.
  5. Flanges should be tightened as soon as possible after assembly to avoid shimming.
  6. For maximum strength, allow the product to cure for 24 hours, minimum.

Storage

Store Loctite 510 in the unopened container in a dry location. Optimal Storage: 8° C to 21° C. Storage below 8° C or greater than 28° C can adversely affect product properties.
