Product Information

The product cures on exposure to ambient moisture to form a tough, flexible silicone rubber gasket. Loctite SI 5926 adheres to a wide range of substrates, including metal, plastic and painted parts. It is ideal for use on flexible flanges, machined or cast surfaces. Loctite SI 5926 resists aging, weathering and variations in temperature without hardening, shrinking or cracking. It withstands vibration and improves shock absorbing characteristics of the load bearing area. The product has an operating temperature range of -54°C to 204°C. Use of Loctite SI 5926 is not recommended for parts that come in contact with gasoline.

How to use Loctite SI 5926:

  1. For best results, clean all surfaces with a Loctite solvent. Use Loctite SF 7063.
  2. Moisture curing begins immediately after the product is exposed to the atmosphere. Assemble parts within a few minutes after the product is dispensed.
  3. Allow for full curing time before subjecting to heavy service loads.
  4. Excess material can be wiped away with non-polar solvents.
 

Storage

Store Loctite SI 5926 in the unopened container in a dry location. Optimal Storage: 8° C to 21° C. Storage below 8° C or greater than 28° C can adversely affect product properties.
