Loctite 5772 Thread Sealant Medium Strength - 50ML Bottle

Loctite 5772 is a medium strength thread sealant, specifically designed for the locking and sealing of threaded pipes and fittings. It cures anaerobically when confined between closely fitted metal threads, creating a durable seal that prevents loosening and leakage. Loctite 5772 has a low halogen and sulphur content, making it ideal for use on sensitive metals like titanium, commonly used in the nuclear industry. Furthermore, its formulation is especially suitable for stainless steel applications, eliminating the need for surface activation.

Loctite 5772 Thread Sealant is a thixotropic product, which significantly reduces the migration of the liquid after it has been applied to the substrate. This ensures that the sealant stays in place, simplifying application and providing a consistent and reliable seal every time.

How to use Loctite 5772 Thread Sealant:

1. For best results, apply to a clean, degreased surface.
2. If using on inactive metal or curing speed is too slow, use an activator spray such as Loctite SF 7471 or SF 7649. Allow it to dry.
3. Apply a 360° bead of Loctite 5772 Thread Sealant to the leading threads of the male fitting. Leave the first thread free. For bigger threads: adjust product amount accordingly. Apply a 360° bead of product on the female threads also.
4. Assemble and tighten as required.
5. Assemblies will seal instantly to moderate pressures. For maximum strength and solvent resistance, allow the product to cure for 24 hours, minimum.

Storage

Store Loctite 5772 Thread Sealant in the unopened container in a dry location. Optimal storage: 8°C to 21°C. Storage below 8°C or greater than 28°C can adversely affect product properties.
