ESD gloves come in two varieties: static dissipative or conductive. They work by either dissipating static electricity or conducting electricity. To achieve this, they are fabricated with a blend of synthetic fibres and conductive materials.

ESD gloves significantly reduce the risk of electrostatic discharge. However, they are not grounded like other types of anti-static equipment. It is always recommended to use a grounding wrist strap while wearing ESD gloves. This will further decrease the buildup of static charge and the risk of ESD events.

  • Latex. The most common material used in ESD gloves. Latex is economical, but it can cause allergies.
